Sure. He could do that. Is that a sensible approach for us, though — disregard a candidate’s competence at governing in the hopes that he’ll have competent people around him? To emphasize: I don’t think Beto would be bad as president necessarily; I just think that his enthusiasts aren’t considering the question. There’s no obvious reason why anyone would think Beto O’Rourke is the best person to be president.
